Caroline County is the northernmost county in the Richmond MSA. It borders Hanover County to the north and is accessed via Interstate 95 and US 301. Route 207 connects the county’s western I95 corridor with its eastern Route 301 corridor. Route 301 is a popular alternative to I95 for places in southern/eastern Maryland.
The most notable areas in Caroline are the Carmel Church and Ladysmith (to the west and central) and Bowling Green (to the east.) Caroline is also home to fort AP Hill.
Caroline is roughly the midpoint between Richmond and Fredericksburg and served by both MLS systems, which can make searching for homes there a bit tricky. A commute from Caroline to Richmond would be considered a long one by Richmond standards and on most days would be 45 minutes or more.
