Claire McCarty
Realtor
Claire McCarty moved from Harrisonburg to Richmond in 2008 to pursue a degree in the arts at VCU. She instantly fell in love with the cities architecture, the many local small businesses, and thriving arts scene. Always observant, she enjoys walking or biking through Richmond’s neighborhoods, taking note of architectural designs and details. Having lived in the Fan, Churchill, Jackson Ward, and currently residing in Ginter Park, Claire appreciates the small-town feel with big-city amenities that Richmond has to offer. Upon earning a Masters in Art and Design Education, she spent a decade teaching fine arts and running her own small business, Bear Ceramics, selling ceramic works of art. Coming from a background in fine arts and education, Claire has a keen eye for design, craftsmanship, and an acute awareness of details. As an educator, she understands how to meet individuals where they are and gently guide them through a process to success. Claire enjoys helping her clients discern what is most important to them and prioritize their needs.
The word “home” means finding a place to call your own and creating space where you feel secure and safe. It is a true foundation for our lives. Buying a home is an investment in yourself.
After going through a harrowing first-time buying experience, Claire wished to offer comfort, advice, and support to anyone else going through the process. After assisting several peers in an unofficial capacity, her friends encouraged her to make it a profession since she was so passionate about helping others find the right home. Claire is deeply invested in her clients and strives to calmly and assuredly educate and elucidate the home buying process to ensure smart investments and happy homeownership.
