Matthew was born and raised in Mathews County Virginia the son of a real estate broker. But a passion for food and hospitality landed him posts as chef at The John Marshall Hotel, Gadsby’s Tavern in Alexandria and 1905 Bistro in Washington DC. Matthew learned functionality in historic kitchens as an executive chef while taking innovative steps to market and open new restaurants in high paced and ever changing markets.

He continued creating and developing for new restaurants such as Right Proper Brewing Company and Songbyrd, a music themed cafe in Charlie Byrds former Showboat Lounge in Washington DC. Following the footsteps of several family members, he left his decades long career in the restaurant industry, and is focusing on his career in real estate.
